That's me. In my gown. At the North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts. It is complete, and I am in love with it.

Sew18thCentury and I took a break from sewing and quilting at the Major Buttrick House to walk to the North Bridge. I'm a native "Masshole" and I'd never been. It was only fitting to visit in my kit. We encountered a kitted volunteer with his musket as we walked down the path, and I felt like I was in the 18th century as he tipped his hat to us and bid us a good day, telling us to enjoy the bridge and its history after a short chat. Shame on me for not going sooner!
Dragonflies kept landing on the flowers in the print. It was a magical experience. Magical. The North Bridge is an incredible place. We--Sew18thCentury, myself, and Mrs. S. (who also had quite the hand in this gown, like Hallie did)--agreed that there's just a good karma feeling there.
What a journey. This has been so amazing. But before I begin another project, I need some sleep!
A pleasure sewing with you yesterday - and glad you got to show off your work to the tourists at the Bridge. They always appreciate good kit!
ReplyDeleteAnd a pleasure sewing with you, too, as always! I cannot express my gratitude to you and Hallie enough; I appreciate it so much!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! It is magical, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is totally magical, I can't wait to wear it again this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! The colors are so soothing and you look very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annabelle! It's a beautiful print, and the kit was very comfortable to wear. I also felt really "at home" dressed in kit, too!
